something interesting

Finally, the most exciting news bit about SiN Episodes is that we've learned Ritual is interested in porting the game to Xbox 360. What's most interesting is how they are considering keeping true to the game's episodic roots by going the downloadable route via Xbox Live Marketplace. Currently, the game sits at around two gigs of data on a PC -- if assuming the 360 version is approximately the same size, the game would be too big for Marketplace. Would the game come in some form on a demo disc with a certain official magazine? Or would they perhaps combine both the disc and Marketplace data to assemble the full and final game? Inquiring Xbox 360 owners want to know -- and so do we.

EDIT : Gameplay video

When I try to load the website it says "Operation Aborted."

Doesn't look impressive IMO, probably won't be picking this one up - will wait on reviews.

The second link works for me, but not the first.

Apart from some mediocre animations on the weapons I think it looks pretty fun.

Voice acting on everyone except the goatee guy was absolutely horrid.

Gameplay looks a little shallow.

But hey, it's just a video. I'll wait on the reviews.

I think it looks very, very fun.

However the dialouge was grating :|

'I ALWAYS GET WHAT I WANT.'

Ya.

Still, at least Goatee-guy kind of makes up for that.

"Why don't you just put a bullet in his head? Hey, I'd do it for free."

Aaaaah finally some news on Sin2:e! Very good read, allthough we all know how people that get "hands-on preview" usually are overly positive and seldom point out flaws.

Personally I was really intrigued by the "game experience by statistics"-approach. If implemented properly that could really set the game apart from other games. One very bad thing in the review was possible porting to x360. Absolutely nothing good comes from porting a pc game to xbox (I'm speaking as a pc-owner here, not as an xbox-owner) and the potential for unwanted side-effects is horrendous.

I enjoyed the original sin-demo, but never got the full game due to some very annoying bugs, and hl sucking my then very limited budget empty.

[edit]
Just saw the videos and I am all hyped up and good to go.
Pros:
Source engine looks great. Some obvious features out of hl2, which is good in my book.
Magnum has iron sights! I hope more weapons have these.
Weapons look satisfying to use.
Most things seem to be affected by physics.
All in all textures and models look very good, allthough possibly a bit plainer than hl2.
Car-action looks smooth.
Enemies look like fun to fight.
Gameplay looks extremely smooth.
Meele attack! And powerful too!
Secondary fire modes ftw!
Cons:
Video shows little in the way of interactivity, except for exploding things and a rigged event. Car looks good, though.
Grenade-ai seems a bit off in the first half of the video.
The gameplay looks extremely easy, but then, it is probably (hopefully) recorded at the lowest skill-setting.

All in all this update really pleased me. The game looks very good at this stage. Ofcourse, as we know, there may be discrepancies between this video and the actual game.

Looks ok seems to be just like EVERY other FPS out there though nothing really grabed me about it, meh.

After having a closer look I'm still loving it, but noticed some pretty effective auto-aim. The autoaim turns off when the magnum goes into iron sights, which makes the player miss almost all his shots.... I sure hope auto-aim can be toggled!

Didn't like the hud much. Found out that there are 5 icons for grenades on the left. There is no use of armor in the video, but there is a vertical bar in the hud that is not used, maybe for ammo?

Cools great. Source showing power, hope to see more and more source engines updates, dont want Valve to fall behind now do we. Ill be buying this for sure.

Mighty impressive, good voice work, Cortana does a great job. I'll be purchasing the first episode.

It just looks like an HL2 mod tbh.

I'm not impressed. Story, dialogue, and acting seem to be pretty bad. The soldiers were really annoying. Gameplay looks pretty bad, I mean, it was set up so every kill was by explosive barrel (or something like that) and the AI did not look challenging. Also, it all seemed really deja vu. From the puzzle stolen out of HL2 (the swinging girder), the choppers flying overhead, the car scene (COD), etc. Graphically I couldn't really tell, but artistically its no HL2. And the HUD bugged me.

The driving sequence started off really neat though. We'll see though. I'm up for trying the demo.

it did seem incredibly deja vu, and highly derivative, along with just generally feeling very unfinished.... I'll wait for reviews or a demo before I buy it

The AI looks just as dumb as HL2's. I'll wait for a demo.

That is probably because they are playing on the lowest difficulty.

I did get the feeling of it being a Half-Life 2 pt.2 as oppose to a different game. Some of the sounds appear like they were lifted directly out of Half-Life 2 also. Facial animations and the like were as good as ever.

Flashbang noise?
Also: AARRGH THE PAIN!
I can do better than that in some voiceclip on MSN :|

Looks pretty average, I'll wait 'till the reviews. Graphically, it's a far cry from even current-gen titles, but if the gameplay comes through, I'll definitely buy it.

I'm not very impressed. Voice acting and AI aside, the style is too much HL2. Just because you're using the same engine doesn't mean you need the same style. From the "headcrabs", to the flames, the NPC treatment, down to the textures on the docks.

It seems like killing EVERY bad guy involves using a flamable object. It was cool in HL2. But in this video, they do it EVERY darn time.
I like the melee attack, boy that feels good.
The vehicle scene, what can I say. Just take the sleek body off the car, and you got an HL2 level, down from the tunnel to the rappelling (sp) to the cliffside to the (I guess now) obligatory helicoptor-on-your-ass.

And please, you need an elaborate physics ploy to open a little gate? In FEAR, it was economical by just busting padlocks. In VALVE, they up the dosage by hitting open huge floodgates. But here? Come on...

Won't be interested, and definitely not as excited when I first watched the videos of HL2, Quake Wars, or FEAR.

100% agreed with ya, Javert.
This footage looked so much HL2... it felt like a HL2 mod. God damn it, headcrabs? :dozey: Highway 17? Pffff :P

I'm not interested. I'm sure this game must have a redeeming quality somewhere. I simply don't care enough to find it. It looks like every other mediocre FPS.

If by "every other mediocre FPS" you mean "Half-Life 2" then, yes, I noticed that too....
