Six Turret Standoff

I've heard of people bringing one of the turrets from the first standoff in Nova Prospekt with them and playing the next one with 4 turrets. (Never have, myself; electric water room is a PITA already.)

But has anybody brought all three turrets from the second battle to the teleport room and fought that last one with six? Aside from the teleport room battle, there's the room with the power outage; having a couple turrets for that one makes things easier.

Anyway, it turns out that if you bring the three turrets with you, the resulting six-turret standoff doesn't work very well. For some reason, when you set up the six turrets, the new ones that are in the teleport chamber regard you as an enemy. It's easy enough to position them so that they can't see you, and they'll shoot at the Combine if you're not available, but the gravity gun considers them "enemy turrets" and won't automatically right them when you pick them up, meaning that a turret that gets knocked down is probably going to stay down.

Additionally, it turns out that the original three from the previous battle were reprogrammed to consider you, Alyx, and Mossman to be "friends" but not Eli. If you set up the three in advance, make sure none of them get a clear shot at Eli. If Eli is killed, the other characters' scripts stop and they just stand there. You'll have to reload from autosave, even though you don't officially lose.
 
Will Combine soldiers come eternally if Eli is killed?

The teleport chamber fight barely requires your input anyway.
 
No, the Combine don't come until after Eli and Mossman leave; if Eli is killed, the other NPCs' script breaks so the game can't reach that point.

And two turrets per entry point makes it easier to watch the teleport charge thingy and whatnot.
