So there are no hit animations?

I haven't watched the e3 2k4 vids cos I don't want to spoil it for myself. I though e3 2k3 did enough of that already. I can't really comment on whats in the vids, but I don't reckon its a feature that they'd purposely REMOVE after already having it in.
Who knows why it doesn't happen in the videos, but it does in the leak. - to combine anyway, zombies don't seem to have the same reaction
you don't want to spoil it for your self but you downloaded the leak.....

You'll see exactly that in the E3 2004 video. A combine gets hit by a rocket and flies half across the beach underneath him.

Yeah and that sucked! I just wanted him to blow into pieces, and if he absolutely had to fly through the air then they should try and make him fly a bit less... he lookes like ****ing Superman...not cool!

just for show, what makes you think that? so when I buy the game if i shoot someone with a rpg he won't fly all over like that?

seems like that was normal gameplay to me

Really now, i thought it was hilarious and cool they way he flew. I hope i can recreate stuff like that too. It seems fine to me, and i don't think it should be scrutinized this much before it's out. Now, i'm not the kinda person to say, "wtf y ru tlking about a gme taht isn't otu yet?!?" I'm just saying this level of scrutiny is a bit much. Don't worry about it, just wait till it's out. THEN you can complain all you want.

you didn't think it was a bit much ?? that stuff looks cool but he flies like 30+ meters from a small explosion... my girl who knows nothing about games/weapons/explosives saw that and her reaction was "what was that..."

just seems unnatural to me

Which is why it's a game.

I dunno, i don't think this is arguable. but yeah, i thought it was cool/funny as hell, and i don't find anything wrong with it. But also if he did explode into gibs and the parts went flying i wouldn't mind that either. Either way, it's cool.

I thought it was awesome. I don't know about realistic, because I bet the only place anyone has seen rockets hit people are in the movies, but it was hella funny.

He flew unrealistically far.

Unless you were being sarcastic, I can't tell.

It would be sick if you could pick up a body of a combine or something and use him as a human shield, then fling him right back at his combine team mate. No doubt that'll never happen in the game.

i thought you meant "for show" as in for e3 only -- my bad :)

He flew unrealistically far.

How would you know? And even if so: damn, GOOD! It looks sweet.

As for lifting dead bodies, well, the reality is that it certainly can happen (very first E3 demo showed it happening), but we don't know (shut up leakers!!!) to what extent you can do it in the game. The grav gun could have some sort of inability to lift organics or something, or it might only work on certain characters.

Why am I thinking...."Who cares?" :P the more dramatic the better :O. I really dont think realism matters, stop with your moaning :D

When was the last time you saw someone get hit by a RPG in real life? No, movies don't count.

Sorry but this threads title has bothered me for ages, and I just have to say this:

So there are no hit animations?

He's commenting about how the title is incorrect. 'Animations' is a plural, which requires 'are' instead of 'is' for the title.

I thought it was confirmed that you could only use the manipulator on tagged bodies - and those will likely to be only bodies you find, not dead bodies you 'create' (with necessary exceptions).

I think the old RPG/flying combine think was for show. I know when I saw it I laughed as did those in the audience. I doubt that would happen everytime you used an RPG on a combine in the game.

if its a statement:
There are no hit animations

if a question:
Are there hit animations?

if the author assumes the answer is no:

so are there no hit animations? / so are there no hit animations then?

and to my knowledge (via various legal sources like E3 etc) nope, apparently there are none, very unfortunate, however not as unfortunate as there not being the ability to RAGDOLL while alive.
