I don't know where exactly did this artical come from. But look:

The physics engine adds even more realism. The popular Havok 2 engine is used in games like Max Payne 2, Deus Ex: Invisible War, and Half-Life 2. Although Havok was not used in Far Cry, both engines are extremely similar and impressive.QUOTE]
Half-life 2? I don't get it. I thought the engine was fully developed by Valve as the source engine.

Havok is a physics simulation engine. It's responsible for all the nifty physics we see in HL2. It's called "middleware." Now, as far as I know, Source uses Havok's first version, not version 2. But Valve modified it a lot.

Havok 2 is a physics engine, its been used for things like ragdoll and rigid body effects for ages, but valve really integrated into the gameplay, and added alot of stuff themselves, its no secret.
