Some problems with playing Half life 2.

Ok, well, I been trying to play Half-life 2 for a couple days now. I play for about 1-2 Minutes, and it freezes. It does this with all my games from valve. Half-Life2, Half-Life2 Deathmatch, Half-Life: Source, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, Counter-Strike: Source, and actually, Garry's Mod was doing it to. I did a virus scan already. I uninstalled them all, and reinstalled them, and there still doing it. They were working about a week or so ago.

Any help/idea's?

Were are the sound files for Half life2 Located on my computer? I been looking and can't seem to find them. I want to listen to some of the stuff, but can't find any of the sound files . Thanks

Download GCFScape and use it to access the .gcf (game cache file) files.

And it doesn't do it with non-source games? I have exactly the same problem and it really gets on my tits Do you have onboard audio rather than a dedicated Sound Card? I believe that this is the root of MY problem, so it could well be with you as well. Take a look at these FAQs on the website:

I've done a number of the things there and met with varied ammounts of success, but a lot of the time it screws up the sound in other ways. I have basically decided the best course of action is to get a proper dedicated Sound Card

Your problem may just be a simple overheating problem though, but as it's a Source-only thing, this seems unlikely.

Well, I don't know exactly what all you want . but here...this is what it says in "my computer" properties.

Toshiba
Satellite
Intel(R) Celeron(R) M
Processor 1.60GHz
1.59 GHz, 448MB of RAM

Graphics card...

(can't find it :/ ..I knew how to find it yesterday, but can't find it this time)
