I would like to express my feelings and opinion about what happened with HL2/Valve lately.

The source code leak:

Please dont think this is the end of the world, Valve confirmed that only 1/3 of the source was stolen. Even if it was stolen completely it would be quite impossible for someone to use it and actually publish it...unless ofcourse if they pay Valve. I dont think Valve will lose much money because of this, im sure they could keep it to a minimum.
As for the hacks... hacks have always been around as far as i know (Q2 had aimbots) and they have never dissapeared. Dont overreact please...:dozey: try to accept it :D

The playable beta:

It's surely not the end from the world now, just the re-confirmation of the fact that Valve has been hacked, adn that they should do something about it. In my eyes its just like a demo. Only it wasnt ment to be released...so what? Please dont overreact :)
You want to spoil the game? Wait another possible 6 months to know whats gonna happen after that level you finished? You want to live with the fact you mentally supported the hackers? Then dont download it, its probably unpure anyway...:dozey:

Conclusion:

Dont overreact, not even when its delayed again, not even if hackers release or get some other stuff...just play the game and enjoy it when its finished. You will be glad you waited :D

Now lets all try to do this a little bit and make this forum worhty of existing again

Hey did you know that the game has already been delayed? to april 2004?

Valve have said that they're still assessing the damage, and are as yet, unable to comment on the impact that the leaks have had.

Whatever it was that said they'd received information from Vivendi was either exaggerated or just untrue. Valve have said, yesterday, that they are still unsure.

I said 'even when its delayed' not that it is delayed :)

I dont quite follow you?

Im not making a statement, just expressing my opinion here, it could indeed become allot worse but for now i dont see any reason to think that way
