Spoilers - Missing Weapons and Level Mishap

Hi all,

didn't find this topic immediately, but it may have cropped up already.

a) when you leave the Combine Stronghold's roof and return to the plaza to fight the Striders, the roof of the Combine building is brand new again even though it was shattered a few minutes prior? Is this a mishap?

b) where are the stun baton/flare gun/OICW (!!!!!!!!)/sniper rifle/ichtyosaur/liquid enemy? Maybe I missed them, but I didn't see 'em. I remember a similar situation with a Half-Life 1 preview movie, so maybe it's being reworked into a mission pack, but either way, it did surprise me these were all missing.

Nonetheless, a brilliant, brilliant game.

many things was cut from the E3 movies and the leak...there is atleast 200 threads about this already..use the search function next time..
 
Bottom line : Anything that you think you missed in the game is most likely 99% of the time, is not in the game anymore.

Ya and its a shame that you have to read every single one rather than ignore them. I think there are more posts complaining about these threads than posts made by people actually asking where the content is.
 
I saw none of them in the game on my way through...

Who would want a stun baton when you have the crowbar?!? ;)
The flare gun seems to have been an alternate fire mode of the pulse rifle, which now just shoots bullets and that ball-thingy.
The OICW would have been a bit superfluous IMO, when you have the MP7 and pulse rifle as automatic weapons already.
You already have the crossbow as well, so the same goes for the sniper rifle... Would have been cool with that blue laser though... Perhaps someone can make it for an MP mod :)
 
Ollibolli....Are you referring to the Physgun? Because Valve said the code for that would be released in the SDK.
 
Since Valve didn't change the model for the pulse rifle, when it loads ammo you can clearly surmise that the "ammo" was originally meant to be a flare, as seen in the Tunnels bink. How can a cartridge spit out multiple rounds of pellets?

A shame about all the stuff cut out, yes. But still a kick ass game nonetheless.
 
the stuff cut out was cut cos it wasn't working or wasn't good... if they left it in the game in a non-working or non-good state it wouldn't be such a good game.

the early hl1 videos and screenshots are a great example, heaps of concepts, enemies etc were cut but the end result was excellent. would hl1 have been as immersive with demons and flocks of bats inside the black mesa labs? i would have been laughing for all the wrong reasons if that stuff was left in.

get over it.
