Spoof IP to gain access early

Does Steam release your game based on your address or IP when logged into steam? If Steam is based on your IP has anyone looked into spoofing their ip through some kind of server in alaska to gain HL2 early? If steam thought you were in alaska based on your IP you could play as soon as it is released without waiting.

Wont work man.
VALVe is going to enable authentication at a certian time. No way around it man.

Valve unlocks steam in there database. + It comes out 12 west. 2am central 3am east. Thats all really the same time. So thats not posible + only 4 hours 25 mins left. Even i can wait that long
