Star Control sequel in the works?

I hope so. Any other StarCon fans out there?

I have many good memories of the game. My favorite would have to be two brothers going head to head in star control 1. It was Yehat vs. Yehat and the match lasted a looooong time. Going head to head at the time meant close quarters and sharing a keyboard. Eventually emotions got the better of the brothers and a fight broke out. It turned into a whirlwind of punches and body slams and headlocks. Old school x386 computers started falling from tables, stacks of 3.5" discs tumbled and then all hell broke loose. Their mom came down and put the smack down. This woman who stood no taller than 5'2" and cracked my friend in the head, picked my friend up by the ear and threw him into the hall. Hell hath no scorn like an awoken mother at 3:00 am.

Yup, still play Star Control 2 from time to time, coffee break you know.
Damn those Ur-Quans!
Star Control 3 felt meh tho, hopefully this sequel will be far better than that was.

Yeah, I was pumped to find a freeware version of Star control 2 on the net. I still play it from time to time. I can't believe I missed Star con 3. I've never played it and just learned of it's existence today.

Do you mind giving me a brief positive/negative rundown?

Well, it felt alot more like an adventure game rather than a strategy game like the previous series, I also felt that the combat was worse than previously.. Heck, iirc the game wasn't even deved by the original group but by some form of "commitee"
