I heard rumors that it was shut down, but I am not sure entirely, can anyone verify? And give some info on why it was shut down?

I think the official word is canned. But it was really far into development so it won't be long before the conent pops up.

World of Starcraft?

It's cancelled, some people think it's good, some people think it's bad. Personally, I want to see another StarCraft game just as perfect and revolutionary as the first one. I hope Blizzard is doing something else than just World of Warcraft stuff at the moment...

Was always wondering what had happened to it. Oh well, looks like Blizzard would rather focus on WarCraft Titles than Starcraft. Still can't figure out why, Starcraft was insanely popular back in the day, probably still is.

because with 6 million wow subs at approx £10 each, they are netting £60 million a mnth, and would, i imagine, like to continue doing so...

It got shit-canned for current gen consoles but I believe they mentioned they may eventually work on another version of the game for next gen. Seems like they sunk a lot of money into it to just cancel it altogether. Didn't they even buy the studio developing it?

Was it a quiet cancellation?
I mean, I remember seeing multiplayer videos of the game in action!
It looked so fun. D:

I don't even remember reading about a cancellation, I just know that they switched devs.

They switched devs, but the new developers couldn't fix up the other ones mistakes. They did a good job, though, so blizzard bought them but later ended up cancelling the whole project.

I hope it moves to next gen
the game looked cool

I played it at Blizzcon, the MP was good fun. Looks like it is canned in it's current form but may see the next-gen.
