Stargate: Atlantis

Here's a thread about SG: Atlantis. You can also discuss SG-1 stuff here, but I decided to put Atlantis in the topic because that series seems cooler at this moment. They should've ended sg-1 with season seven and the marvelous 'Lost City' -episode if they can't come up with decent episodes.

So, what do you think about Atlantis? Do you like it?

I think the people and civilizations in the Pegasus galaxy tend to be too much earthlike sometimes. For example, the guys who took over Atlantis in that 2-part episode. And of course, there's the thing with everyone from wraith to other humans from a different galaxy speaking english. Though english is for tv-enjoyability and I understand that.

The series' cast is quite good, in my opinion. Only thing is that McKay tends to be a little annoying at times. Also, Ford is missing a character at this (early?) stage. Sheppard is good and so is Teyla. Dr. Weir isn't the prettiest person in the world but she works as the commander of the base.

Maybe they haven't gotten the hang of it yet as it is Season 1.

Gotta love the episode with the Ancient woman who has a thing for Sheppard.

After reading some forums and stuff, it seems many people don't like some characters, the writing is crappy etc. Maybe I'm just different.

I've really gone off SG1 and Atlantis, same old stories tbh..

SG1 could be saved though if they actually have Earth taken over by the Goauld, that'll open up tons of new storylines in a whole new direction.


If you want a well written show, Battlestar Galactica remake wins hands down

I LOVE STARGATE! Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis are the best show on the planet.
However, they need to make the show XXX rated and add a few just 18 girls. lol. joking. but that would be nice. turn it into a xxx show.

Yeah, especially in an SG-1 episode where soldiers from another planet were using AK47s and M1 Garands...

I love both of the programmes, but I always thought it was funny how they never did explain the whole "Hi I'm an alien from a completely different culture, and I'm talking to you in English."

I do prefer it this way though, its best to just leave it as it is rather than invent a new language every week.

The Battlestar Galactica remake? The Cylons are Blonde women who like sex and killing babies? Starbuck as a woman? It's like the Doom movie...

As for Stargate Atlantis, i think the whole point of the Mckay character is to be slightly annoying , but he is the best character of the lot. Can't wait for the final two episodes, if you don't want to spoil the episodes, don't uncover the spoil...

The final episodes of sg1 are when sg1 travel back intime to fight Ra in Ancient Egypt and steal his zpm, they succeed and put the send a load of soldiers through to Atlantis to help fight off the Wraith ships in orbit around the planet. The zpm is then put in the Daedalus, Earth's brand new Battlecruiser and is sent to Atlantis to fight the Wraith, will it get there in time though?
