Starting in hammer, no textures visible

Ive just started to attemt some tutorials in hammer editor although i cant seem to get my textures to appear(as in in the camera mode) if i create a prop_static entity and make it a hostage model it just appears as purple checker, although has its shape, does anyone know the possible problem? Thanks for your time.

Seems like your Hammer isn't set up right.

this was all actually set up. i rechecked it and its all correct...

issue solved i clicked "camera" and selected 3d textured
