No, not currently used bandwidth, but the max ammount of bandwidth. The graph only went up to 15,000 an hour ago, now its 20,000.

the scale of the graph changed dumbass. the current available b/w is 13.8 gb/sec WE KNOW. the MAX that the graph will show is 20 gb/sec, which previosly was 15 gb/sec. thats why he named the picture ASSHAT you asshat

um...that's because the scale changed...that's not the "max" of anything except that graph, which is nothing. That max could be 50,000 and nothing would be different.

do you understand that the amount of bandwidth used is only, at present, about 7,500mb/sec, out of a total maximum of 13,800mb/sec?

if i had a million dollars and you had 1.4 million dollars and someone plotted our money on a graph, and they wanted to put some perpective into it, they could make the span of the visible Y axis 0-2 million dollars, or they could make it 0-4 million dollars, or whatever else they wanted. The visible upper bounds of the axis has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of bandwidth being used, nor does it have anything to do with the amount of bandwidth being made available. The server's statistics program simply changed the maximum Y value to offer a better view of the current set of numbers represented on the chart. The reason I didn't understand what you were talking about is because the numbers you mentioned aren't really involved in anything except this little graph. They don't represent anything at all...

the maximum available bandwidth went up from about 11Gb/sec to about 13.8Gb/sec...15 and 20 haven't come into play yet, even though you can see where those numbers WOULD be on the graph when you look at it. They are frame of reference only.

i started out asking an innocent question about your numbers, as you can see. then you attacked me, and i responded in kind, because you are flat wrong in saying that "Steam bandwidth is up to 20000Mbps"

the server automatically changed the scale of the graph when the average got over a certain % of the earlier graph scale (15K in this case).

There is absolutely no reason to expect the limit to be 20. When/if the actual available bandwidth goes over 15-17K, you can expect the automatic graph generating script to change the scale to go up to 25K instead.

I read something a couple weeks ago about how Gabe had secured 40,000Mbps of available bandwidth for the HL2 launch should they find that it becomes necessary. As usage goes up, expect the available bandwidth to go up accordingly.
