I have wondered about the Half-life 2 story. So i looked in Videos and intervjues and stuff, So i wanted to share my theory and see what others may think or say.

In the start of Half-Life 2 you start 10 years after the incident at Black Mesa (Gabe Newell said that in an intervjue). Gordon Freeman has not getting old, instead he have been sleeping without getting older. (In a video Alyx father sais "You have not change a bit"). From the Videos you can see Aliens working in a lab with humans. That must mean Human and Aliens are working together somehow against someone... Doctor Breen. It seems that Breen is controling City 17. I think Breen is some leader that hate Aliens. When the planet exepted Aliens Breen and others moved to City 17 to later on fight the aliens and others with them. So all the "combine soldiers" are human. But... This is what i think... What do you guys think? How have the world been shaped seens you lefted Half life 1.

I would say that Gordon is put in Cryo freeze, this way the G - Man makes sure Gordon doesnt get old and what not.

i dont think Breen hates Aliens, i think that the Aliens are working with the humans against Breen because Breen is trying to Colonize xen with the combine to try and spread power and also because Earth is slowly dying off with little resources.

I think there are many cities, gamespot said they heard a citizen say City 14 which indicates Breen is sticking people in old cities then numbering them.

if dr breen would hate aliens.. why does he have creatures like the strider and alien gunship and dropship in the combine army?

it seems to be that breen is ismply a human puppet-figure head for the combine

he says something like-

'that is why i have set up my administration here, in the citadel so thoughtfully provided by our....(long pause)...benefactors.'

so from that its obvious that breen isnt one of the combine, and that the combine have control over breen
