Stuck!!!

Hey..i am stuck in the game (in the beginging)..when u have to goto the roof and then carefully cross the ledges finally leading to a room..the room has a staircase leading down..it breaks when u go down.. on going down there are 2 doors but both of them r locked!! HELP!

Something is supposed to happen in that room, I won't spoil it for you. Try opening steam, right-clicking on Half-Life 2, clicking properties and verifying your files.

When you do that Steam should check if all of your game files are correct and fix them if they're broken. When that's done try playing the game again.

Also, what is your Half-Life 2 directory, it can cause problems if you have an unusual directory, the game gets all pissy about where the files are.

thanks..theres no steam either.. well wat exactly happens in the room?? it happens on its own?? i somwhow managd to get back upstairs despite the broken staircase, and saw two bots.. they didnt do nething..

I'll tell you what happens, since you want to know. When you get in the room, a group of combine soldiers come through the door and beat you silly with their electric batons. Then the screen turns white for a few seconds and then a crazy person helps you up.

Is where you installed HL2 C:/Valve/Half Life 2 by any chance?

If you dont have Steam on your PC, you dont have a legit copy. Its simple as that.

OK.. can anyone tell me which file it is?? can anyone send me that file or tell me where to look for it? in the game, it says A.I. disabled..so i guess thats y the combine dont attack me..
