I got all happy when I saw that. But you know it didn't fix my stuttering problem! I will admit that it is less severe but I still have stuttering.

And no, I don't have a warez version of HL2. I have the latest updates just like you do. And a gig of RAM with a heapsize of 512MB. I just gave up and played the game with the occasional stutter. :frown:

Try some of the things in this guide...

I use to have horrible stuttering, now I have next to none. Also don't run the game with High texture quality unless you have a gig+ of RAM. I think the main thing that causes stuttering is the autosave, set sv_autosave to 0 but just remember to quicksave lots....it's all explained in the guide

I've got a theory running on another forum (www.head-fi.com)

I think that it's caused by using a passive PFC (Power Factor Correction) power supply.

Could everyone please report here what their PSU model is, and whether it's either:
No PFC
Passive PFC
Active PFC

Also, can you please say whether you get stuttering or not

So far, I've had 100% success.

Thanks for any replies to add to my survey I've got going
Matt

Yeah, for some reason I've just started getting stuttering. I have never had stuttering before and is really bothering me.
