Hi all, I'm trying to get my gf into computer games but she doesn't care at all so I took the most simple game I could find that doesn't involve blowing someone's brains out (The Sims 2), but even that doesn't really interest her. Any suggestions? Note that it should be in Dutch or doesn't involve English a lot, because she can't understand a thing of it :p

So... dutch? And non-violent, I guess? Maybe morrowind, if it can be in dutch. But I don't know.

you're either a gamer or you're not
but you could try handheld games..

Funny you thought about Sims 2, that's the first one that came to mind when I saw the title of this thread.

Uhm... Tomb Raider: Legend? :p

Beyond good and evil has a full dutch option. Even the in game speech.
Do not buy it for the PC though, because all BG&E CD's in Holland are broke, if you want it for PC you need to download it.

If she doesn't like the Sims, you're probably screwed.

Sims owns......for a bit

Well its obvious she doesn't share an interest in games so there is no point trying

Girls love the Wii. (Coincidence?) If you don't have one, surely you know someone who does.

Maybe if she enjoys that, it'll be her bridge into computer games.

QFT. If she doesn't like PC games there's no point in forcing her to try.

One suggestion though.... a dutch version of tetris...:|

If you have a PS2, get Katamari. Everyone loves Katamari.

A lot of girls seem to play Guild Wars a lot. It's also the kind of game you can pick up and play so she doesn't have to sit down for hours on end :p

If I had a girlfriend who couldn't talk back in English to me, she wouldn't have time for gaming. :naughty:

[ASSUMING YOU DON'T READ BOOKS LOL]

If she doesn't understand/enjoy video games... pointless! D:

It's like her asking a forum what book you'd like to read to get you into reading books.

G-Dub, nobody reads books, wtf r u on about?

Is it such a bad thing that your GF doesn't like games? I mean... honestly I can't say I would want a GF who played or liked games as much as me lol.

I know my real name is Nobody, but jeez, It ashames me.
WHY DO YOU MAKE FUN OF MY PROBLEM?

Not *as much* as me, but I would find it enjoyable to play a game or two with her that she enjoys aswell (Hide/Find the penis is a no-no). She's an indoor type, so I figured "Why not try it?". I have the "acquired" version of Beyond Good & Evil lying here, I'll install that aswell. Be it just because I'd like to replay it :p

girl games hmmm

well the first one I got my wife playing was the sims, then sims 2
she enjoyed those, she likes black and white 2

World of Warcraft is another one, but it takes a lotta time and dedication lol (in teaching her how to play) I taught her to play WOW and she hadn't ever used a mouse to steer a camera before lol, talk about "my view is stuck in the ground/wall/character's ass" and "where are you?!? - behind you babe - omfg where?! - I still haven't moved just turn around" city.

anywhoo, yeah, if you have an xbox 360 or console or whatever try racing games, chicks dig fast cars (and most racing games involve 2 buttons, accelerate and steering... brakes are for pussies)

all the classics, try tetris (tetris worlds for xbox 1 is great)
ummm... Kameo and viva pinata big girl games.
umm.....
yeah think thats a good list to get you going, don't expect a fps player though, that's really complex for the girlies.. besides most female fps players look like german olympic swimmers.

ok good luck on your conversion.

also nab a 10 buck pc gamepad and download an emulator for snes/nes etc, mario is a big girl game (most nintendo stuff is totally estrogen)

Ye I'm savin up for a Wii, hoping to make that her first real gaming experience :p

Sharing your hobby with your girlfriend is a bad idea. She will make you sit still next to her while she watches endless soaps on tv as a 'compromise' and then when you split up she will launch your beloved PC/Console onto the lawn from a window of suitable height as to gain enough velocity to half bury it.

Trust me, I know.
