Yeah I just finished single player, and I am STILL confused with the dude with the tie. So, is it that he owns me or something? And he sold me to do some other work *coughHALFLIFETHREEcough*? I've been waiting to figure out what role he's got, now I'm dissapointed... Note: You see him at least 3 times in the game: once on the fanboat, he is on a bridge, sort of, and looks down on you; on the level with the snipers on the train tracks, at the END when you get of the railroad, crouch and look through a gap in the train wreck where it stops you from going through: you see him walking around. Finally, in Anticitizen One, it is fairly obvious, I don't remember where but in a collapsed room behind a staircase or room you enter, there is a TV with him on it, and after a few seconds it flickers off. Has anybody seen other traces of him?

There are quite a few Gman sightings, and everyone has been found countless times.

Gman is your employer, you know very little else about him.
