I am thinking about putting a thing in my first map where you will need somebody to help you do something. There will (maybe..) be a reward in it for both players. Of course in tdm this will work, but considering that dm is every man for himself is this stupid? Or would it be interesting to have to team up with someone to help both of you?
Thoughts?

I dont want people to nick the specific idea before i release my map so im not saying it yet. But its fairly simple.

edit: Oh and another thing. Its taking ages to compile now.. Im probably about 30% done and vvis.exe has been using my whole cpu for like 30 minutes, what could be causing this? I havnt used nodraw or done any other optimisations yet and the map is fairly big. But earlier versions which were not very different were compiling in under 5 minutes.. probably just some random bug i guess, gonna end task and recompile in about 10 minutes if this doesnt finish.
 
i dont know about the compilign thing. let me assure you no one is going to steal your idea. and if you dont want to say what it is why even post in the first place? no one can really tell you what they think of an idea that you wont even put incase someone steals it.
 
1.- your idea was probaly done more that once (costum mapping didn't start yesterday)

and if you are doing DM map, dont put stuff like that in- ppl dont team up in DM (for teaming you need clan played TDM or TDM on a VERY friendly pub server sometime at night when kids go to bed). It may work if you will make it "glorious"- like if two ppl go somwhere they have like 300 HP, glow and have some über wepons, but dont expect that people will stop fraggin eachother for a lousy medpack and AR2 :) DM has only one rule- KILL

compile: use func_detail (check tutorial for instructions)

well, ive never seen it.

yeah i used glview and did that after reading http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Optimization_(Geometry). Compile times are ok now :)

Don't you use dm_ or tdm_ ?

People will know if its tdm or dm and can choose whether or not they want to play.
