The Antlion Guardian looks like a good idea.

Even if it is just a repainted Antlion Guard.

If you look closely at the screenshot that Polaris posted, it appears that the Citadel's tipped over from the explosion, judging from the debris on the left side of the shot. Neat.
 
Wow that's awesome especially the part about the G-man appearing I wonder what he is going to say.
Especially since there is a Vortigaunt there I wonder how that sequence will turn out.
I got to say that so far the beginning of ep2 is awesome even though now I guess we won't be getting a antlion king or queen.
I still think the Guardian is a neat addition.

Well we've seen that it takes place in some kind of office so it's probably fair to say he pulls them into his 'outside of normal time and space' area again, rather than just pop up via the elevator and say hi.
 
Ya of course it wouldn't be like the G-man to just come out of nowhere and just say hi.
I think maybe he just pulls Gordon and Alyx to his office not the Vortigaunt after all I think he doesn't want someone just as powerful as him to be there.
Actually I think the Vortigaunts are even more powerful than the G-man. If my theory is correct all he can do is teleport himself to places while the Vortigaunts got the Vortessence.

The previewer seems to have liked the final battle of the ep, as did the TeamXbox guys.

I will, however, end with this--the final battle in Episode Two is probably my favorite battle in any videogame, ever.

Seems the romantic relationship between Alyx and Gordon might be budding.
 
I really hope the final battle has some new enemy elements in it.

I mean, cannon-spamming striders are getting old.

Hunters can apparently "call" for striders. That's an interesting game mechanic by itself.
 
I think the smoke was placeholder; the super portal isn't just an effect it has plot significance too.
 
final battle that good huh? Must be ultra super magnusson with robotic arms and horse legs then.
 
It's Gordon's long-lost robotic evil twin from the other dimension (made by Peter Griffin).
 
Holy Mother of Hype.... I normally HATE to get hyped about games... but DAMN Episode 2 is sounding better each and every day.
 
Hopefully the battle will have you supplied with reinforcements. Being a one-man-army is all well and good, but I don't want a strider group appearing on the other side of the map after I dealt with another group, and then tearing through everything before I can reach them.

That will probably be the case, but the brunt of the fighting will certainly go to the player. Any reinforcements will probably serve as cannon fodder to draw the Striders' and Hunters' fire.

Also- I wonder how this is going to run on PC's, what with all the NPC's and action going on.
 
Yeah, the one man army feel might be abit stale if they send only Gordon out to do deal with the Striders. We know this isn't the case, but I hope there's plenty Rebels to get smeared.
