Temple2 Released (new hl2dm map)

And so i have completed the sequel to my first map, "Templev1". Temple2 fixes nearly all problems with the first and adds all new fun stuff!

The map takes place in a Temple's courtyard, features a centralized-arena style play, large pillars (some you can even knock down), sniping post, a brain puzzle, most of the guns, and more!

This map is ideal for team deathmatch, where one team tries to control the powerful sniping post while another sieges it with blocks (at high speed…).

This is a very fun map and I’m quite proud of how it turned out.

Lighting?

3D skybox?

Hmmm...something about the architecture reminds me of the original Halo multiplayer maps. :p

Still no luck on the lighting. It locks up when you go to run it, so...i went with ambient once more.

Dont know how to do 3d skyboxes yet.

I'm not feeling verbose today, so I may have appeared curt with my criticisms.

Nothing wrong with the map itself (although it's not my style). The only problems you have are technical, and that's not a bad thing.

Looks a lot better now. Thank you good doctor.

edit: any chance of me making a guest appearance in the doctors chronicles once? that would be awsome man!

Thank you...good chef.

Thats actually possible in this rare instant...given that we have a chef character already (i couldnt help but notice your joy of cooking). Perhaps his last name can be Clavius, permanently. Any time he is mentioned, technically, you would be in the comic.

cant DL it now, but from the screens it looks very cool. ill get it when i come home. hopefully ill get hammer configured soon, so I can make maps!!! muhahhaha!!!1

not so much halo, more like perfect dark on the N64, its well reminiscent of the multiplayer maps from that, the pillars especially.

looks good tho.

Never played any of those...

Its missing random objects like chairs and such to throw around... add lots and lots and lots and lots of those :)

Moved.

:)

Looking quite nice there, I can't wait to get going on my own maps when I have the time :|

Shitty map, someone make Source Datacore or Source Bootcamp.

Bootcamp yes, Datacore no. Datacore is awful :p

Ohh no, you didnt say Datacore is awful, it was my favorite map ever in HLDM :flame:
But I do want Datacore, Bootcamp, Frenzy & Gasworks in Source, ohhhh man, that would be swell.

But Datacore just had people whoring the shotgun!

Bootcamp and Gasworks in Source yeah, but I'd like to see new maps too.

Frenzy.. only ever played that once.. didn't like it too much, only really good for 1 on 1.

Bah. New game, new maps.

Although gasworks was one of my favs.

Yea it definetly reminded me of the Skedar (spelling) World in Perfect Dark..

Does the SDK gives us the ability to create our own HL2MP maps ?

No offense, but I'd never play that map. It seems like most new maps are either ports of old ones, or ones that would go well with HLDM or the original CS, etc. So far I haven't seen any maps that are truly unique, and take advantage of the source engine. It seems like the HL/CS community is a bit afraid of new things, whether it be changes to thier favorite game, a new style of mod, new gameplay, or a truly different map.

Then again there arent that many maps yet.
