I scored a 4226 with 3Dmark03. My specs are located in my sig. My friend was able to score near a 6000 with a P4 2.4 ghz, 768 pc2700 Ram, and a 9800 PRO. Now, I am not sure why I am getting such a low score. I would think I would be getting higher than his. Please help.

Do games run slower than they should?? If not then dont bother doing anything as this just show how irrelevant futuremark's benchmark application is. If you want a true benchmark to how your system performs then running actually game tests such as the hl2 VST and doom 3 time demo's is the way to go...

check ur vid settings, change them to application preference, that will make it work better with 3dmark, as u probably have them on high

Make sure you installed the chipset drivers for your motherboard, the ones with windows sucked, that raised my 3dmark score like 1000 points, and uhh.. Make sure your have all the drivers that are supposed to be for your stuff, NOT windows drivers.

Yea I always go to the manufacturer's site for every component and d/l the drivers they have, seems to help alot. I dont do 3dmark but an easy example is when I go to NEC and use thier drivers the options increase dramically for refresh rate and resolution.

That is pretty low - try running your card at stock speeds (which should score around 5700-6000)

What would decreasing the speeds do to my score? Would it not decrease it even more?

if your card is overheating during testing, then yes, making it back to stock would probably help.

Is there a possible way to check the temperature of the card? It is an MSI RX9800 PRO. I do not think it is able to tell temperature though.
