I know this has been posted before, but, I finished the game for the first time last night.

RUBISH END!

GREAT GAME THOUGH.

STFU.
Did you want G-man tio stand up and tell you who he worked for and just be spoonfed everything.
People have worked out the entire plot and the only question left is what will happen.

Yes, Rionhaire is correct.

Dude, shut up. You don't even understood what happened (Cod, not Riomhaire)

It was incredibly anticlimatic. It makes sense, but it doesn't really make it any better.

Entitled yes, but after about a thousand dubious threads regarding the topic theres simply no need for another thread like this, thats why people are sky rocketing, the best they can do is just ignore him i guess.

Riomhaire what were you warned for ? :P

Maybe anticlimatic would have been a better choice of words. I have read some of the info regarding the storyline, and yes it does make sense, but like many games the end was somewhat anticlimatic.

I'm not saying the game was any worse for it. Its bar far the best FPS I have played, and I think it will hold that position for a long time.

Maybe HL3 will have a more exciting ending!

I think the ending is the most obvious hint of a sequal in a video game...ever. I wonder if Half-Life was originally going to be a trilogy?

No, thats just a rumour, doug lombardi quite clearly stated in PC ZONE that they dont know how many they are going to make.

I would prefer a trilogy however :)

Ya, Gabe said when PCgamer got the first interview about HL2, that they were going to use source for HL3.

I really would like to see a definite ending… rather then a slow and steady decline in quality. (Because that would be bound to happen) Where the game (hl9) is eventually sold to another developer to make it into a crap cracker.

Agreed, otherwise were just going to have another star wars on our hands, well, i guess it depends if you liek the current series...i know idont

i have to say i thought the ending was brilliant, becaue you always start getting this feeling that you kick ass with no exceptions, then the g-man shows up and puts u into isolation where you can do little at all, pretty much making you realise that you are in fact only a pawn that the g-man makes use of when he needs to

I thought the ending was begining to become predictable as soon as you entererd the last chapter. It was slightly mistical tho, not giving you any other information is good for gossip and that. They did it well.

See i made a opinion

is a bit vague

Hey cod...can you help me??? I'm at the point in HL2 where I'm at the top of the tower where alyx is just behind me and this scientist bloke is in the pod and, its opening & I got to do something? I've tried everything but can't work it out. What am I missing?

the thing is, Valve somehow let the cat out of the bag before HL2 released.. which is there would be a HL3.

i think if Valve had kept hush about HL3, then perhaps some pple would not consider the ending "rubbish"
how else can Valve end HL2 and still keep the mystery? surely everyone knew they were in for a cliff hanger ending as soon as plans for HL3 were made known.
