I personally love the enemy soldiers, and i think that theres not a lot of stuff to add to make them even better. I have found one suggestion though, Instead of the enemys, standing there shooting at you, they should go into a squatting sort of position, and instantly go for cover.
 
They don't necessarily stand there shooting at you.
The A.I. was toned down and many of the enemies actually were made to stay in one spot so they could show other aspects of the game.
We haven't seen how good the A.I. is quite yet.
 
In almost all of the videos, the AI was off. It's been said a million times, but no worries if you missed it. Expect much more than squatting.
 
........ I dont think weve seen what the AI is really capable of in HL2 just yet.
 
I thought that the AI at the beginning of trap town (i think) was gr8 when the you put the table against the door and the soldier tries to open the door but realising he can't goes to the window to shoot :cool: more of that and i'll be happy:bounce:
 
Slug use the search dude, your bringing up things that have been said 90 gillion times.
 
Gabe has stressed many times that the enemy AI will find cover, work in teams, try to flank you etc. I don't think we've even scratched the surface yet.
 
yea also haven't none of u read that the Enermy will have some kind of phone, whateva on that to call for BACKUP! man that is goin to be sweet! also i read a long time ago that u can shoot the phone out thier hands or something and it won't work ((((JUS LIKE Metal Gear SOLID)))

they will do so much cool stuff.

i mean course they were toned down! the HL1 AI was better then what you saw in the HL2 vids! lol.

they won't jus stand there and shoot at you every 5 seconds man!

Ya the first time I watched that, when he pushes the table in front of the door I was thinking, "oh cool he's gonna be just fi---" then the combine starts shooting through the windows - and it's so damned close the bullets are loud as *@^$ hitting the washing machine (or whatever it is), the walls behind you, total chaos. I actually felt like I was There for a second! Then to top things off they kick in the door! :eek: and to think it's not scripted; you can play that level so many ways (just keep running without closing door, close door, don't block it/kill them go back outside)
