OK, this id just to help the new guys who have no idea about some of the events of the forums history, much like I did when I started out.

I seemed to pick up on things such as; Princess Jen, The Munro incident (tho i'm not really sure about this one), the Munro avatar week (more like month) and a few others.

So to help, or just confuse, the new guys. This thread is here to be a holder of our history, just post away.

That was when a troll posted pictures and claimed he was a girl. Many stupid, testosterone laden members jumped upon the thread, and the activity started a small fire on the server's CPU.

I think it would be better for everyone if they just used a little common sense before assuming that people are who they say they are.
I mean, its pretty obvious; a real girl would not be posting raunchy pics in a forum like this one unless they were braindead. I mean, think with the right head for a change!

If someone joins the forum with a sig in bright pink, proclaiming "I'm a girl get over it." and the bio " Im a craZy lil blonde girl, Im addicted to msn, shopping, music, alcohol n the word LuSh! :p" .. then what do you think?

what do you think if someone has a bio saying "LoL I LiEk hOt GuyZ LoL!!11" then I think your BS detectors should blast holes in their little BS detector holders.

what about members called things like GirLgAmeR69?

I understand that some of the users here may be a little naive, but at least think a little about it first, or you end up starting Princess Jen II

Girls on the internet are real people, and furthermore, the kind of people who would create a forum account.. not teeniebopper nymphomaniacs...

I could write a book about females and games/internet, but I'm not going to lecture the forum anymore :P, at least, not beyond warding off another princess jen.

Oh come on, that thread was hilarious. I'm sure you admins have a pile of threads like that were you poke fun at everyone else on the forum.
 
So "The Munro Incident" can be one of these three thing? 1. The avatar week. 2. When Ritz, Recoil, Foxtror etc was banned. 3. The admin war(s).
 
ehh so classic halflife2.net historical moments get erased from existence...well that sucks.

In a hundred years when internet historians are trawling through ancient interweb archives they may discover the princess jen thread somewhere and debate over its meaning and purpose.

Only us vets know all the classic historical moments. Oh and don't forget about the arena.

In Soviet Russia, historical events erase you from history.

Why exactly was Ritz banned, i thought i would of been banned long before Ritz ever was.

And Bliink, there are real girls that call themselves "girlygamer1337" and write in pink letters and go round saying their hobbies include "hunky men, doom3, halflife2 and going out and getting really, really drunk" :). I think most girls prefer to stay under the cloak that every guy thinks that every member here is a man, though.

I still remember the princess jen thread...it was so much fun. I remember me and a few others turned it into our own personal chat room and Icarus getting all lawyer like.

Because of Hetairia, I think. The same reason Recoil and Foxtrot were banned.
 
Not because of hetairia..actually I truely don't know the reason. I think she/he/it kept harrassing a mod or somethin. That's a guess tho. Foxtrot was banned for making a seperate account. Short Recoil I don't know why he was banned.

I think lots of people; those three and people like gh0st and Pesmerga ,who was banned but then unbanned again, was banned because of their continuing Hetairia bashing.

None of them really are or won't get the thread closed nor will you get warned/banned. Except for the het...you know..that incident.

Why are people bringing up the stupid 'history' of HalfLife2.net? There's obviously not enough 2003 regs here anymore to remember the history of this site that actually counts... the first few posts that Gabe made, how we scored hosting on Valve's network etc. Sigh.

That was in the before time, not history.
 
I remember when gabe posted...everyone went insane. Also that test thing...I remember everyone was constantly trying to figure out what was on the white board. Also Spiffe or whoever it was that went to valve. I miss him.

Also lonederanger! I miss him to. I also remember Axyon was called Abomination. ;)
