The Roll of the Vortigaunts

I'm surprised no one has talked about this (At least not in the threads I've explored). Anyway, I'm looking at the possibilities for the vortigaunts to be active allies like the ressistance fighters were later in Hl2. They still have their shock abilities, and they can now speak english, so what are the odds that you will fight alongside one while evacuating city 17? They could be like a medic, except they give you small charges to your suit instead of health. I was disappointed when I saw the two vortigaunts talking to each other and they sounded nothing like in HL1. That was good sound effects. Maybe they'll add similar voices since the Vorti's are fighting again, swearing at the Combine in their original language. What are your thoughts on our poetic speaking friends?

It’s interesting that you don’t see a single one after Nova Prospekt. It could be that something happened during that week you spent in slow teleport. Who knows…
You do get to see them fighting during Black Mesa East.

There are some Vortigaunts fighting an eternally respawning metrocop in Eli's lab (the chapter before "we dont go to ravenholme")

You can see the Vortigaunt shocking the metrocop by noclipping back into Eli's lab after you get separated from Alyx.

As long as I get to shoot them like the old HL then I'll be satisfied.

No way, I seriously want to fight with them. BTW they are alot more powerful than in HL1, I'm talking killing most things in 1 shot.

one spawned vort will take out as many as ten soldiers at medium range and at long range i had one going for ten minutes!

haha yeah, a vortigaunt trio cant take out an antlion guard!

I've noticed they arn't as effective at very close range(except against headcrabs) so maybe we'll see them being killed by shotgun squads?
