the Striders are everywhere!!!

woah thats going to be class, even listening to the soudtrack makes me shiver. Striders are a blatant rip off but a VERY good choice to rip off, there terrifying

I was about to scream lawsuit until the antlion-starship troopers bug thing hit me :/

Senior Spielbergo and Tom Cruise hey? Could be interesting.

Yah. Hmmm, maybwe if we read The War of the Worlds...we'll get some spoilers... :rolling:

I read it quite recently. HL2 certainly won't be copying it's ending. Far too anticlimatic.

Gaa can they actually make a movie which isn't a remake or a sequel, anymore?

I love War of the Worlds...book and original movie....they better not mess it up :P

Totally off topic, but very cool read below about when Orson Welles read a radio version or the book back in 1938 (on Halloween no less)...and a great deal of people actually believed earth had been invaded!

Where do you get the music?

A tripod stilt with a giant penis is SO TERRIFYING.

wow, that simple pic of the tripod legs is very cool. i hope this movie turns out to be good.

There is a web page for a war of the worlds mod of half life 2. Don't remember what it is but its going to be based on the book, not the new spielberg film.

(Orsen Wells radio show is really awsome, I heard some a while back iand it does almost seem real.)

Wow, this is going to be kickass. One might call the striders ripoffs or vice-versa, but the differences in size, origin, mechanics, purpose, context and other stuff make me indifferent.

I would also like to hear this music.
Please supply!

You'd have to buy the actual 'album'/whatever you call them.

I still listen to it even today. Forever autumn still my fave, that and thunder child!

"The steamer began to move slowly away, but on the land horizon appeared the siloutette of a fighting machine! Another came and another, striding over land and trees! Plunging far out to sea, blocking the exit of the steamer. Between them lay the silent, grey, iron clad, Thunder child. Slowly it moved towards shore, then with a deafing roar and whoosh of spray, it swung about and drove at full speed towards the waiting martians!"

*cue music :P

"The martians released their black smoke but the ship sped on, cutting down one of the tripod figures, instantly the others raised their heatrays and melted the Thunderchilds valient heart."

*cue fantastic guitar solo!

Oh, Jeff Wayne. Yes, his album was the awesome.

I thought that the soundtrack for this 2005 movie was what was being talked about.

the striders are the rip off there is no doubting that...but who cares, originality is in the eye of the beholder!

Its a ripoff of something thats over half a century old though. :D
