Has anyone ever read this suberb novel by Dean Koontz? I had started reading it about a week before HL2, ya know, to pass the time. Great book, check it out here for more info.
the reason i bring it it up, is the similarity between how the Combine seem to be
. I have yet to beat HL2, just finished Entanglement so I don't know the whole story yet. I don't want to ruin the book for anyone (if you are a sci-fi/thriller/horror fan this book is a must-read) so I will spoiler tag the simlarity.
The methods of terraforming are completely different, but the idea is the same. Come to Earth, mix and match things up to make it suitable for species, dominate.
Just kind of a cool comparision, maybe the ending will be similar....?

terraforming the Earth for their race
in the book, extra-terrestrials come to earth and by extracting mass quantities of water from the ocean, they are able to create a rain that contains seeds. This rain then floods the Earth and causes the ET's plant life to begin to grow and take over. In essence, they are terraforming (i think thats the word).
