The teleport incident

I was replaying the beginning of hl2, and something occured to me during the teleport sequence. Some think that Lamarr jumping into the teleport caused the teleport to malfunction, but I think it was coincidental. What if the gman caused the disruption? Because the large-scale war wouldn't have occured if Gordon had been teleported to Eli's lab.

Eli was even planning for Gordon to come back to his scientific roots when he said "we'll get you out of that suit and into your lab coat where you belong" (this was in another thread too). But it seems the gman knows Gordon's strengths better than anyone. This makes sense to me, I could just be plain wrong though.

Don't mind the G-Man in that pic. I got the screenshot from HL2: Substance and they apparently added him in there in their mod. I must say it's quite an ingenious idea to place him there IMO BTW.

Lamarr jumped into Gordon's face during the teleport sequence (that's wht he's with Gordon on that pic), just after he jumped out of the vent and disconnected a cable, if I recall correctly.

edit - I'm sure Lamarr works for the GMan too

Well, I thought all along that Lamarr caused the teleport incident. I am just presenting a (probably wrong) alternative viewpoint.

I grudgingly agree with iMMuNiTy. That means that everything upto the point where Gordon gets to Eli's lab is just a series of unfortunate events. But why does Gordon sight G-man (assuming we know where to look) so often in these early parts?

If you re-read my post, I came to g-man sabotaging theory after replaying it. Before I thought Lamarr caused the incident (and am still impartial to my own theory).

I believe that the Resonance Displacement Anomaly may or may not have had anything to do with the g-man.
(yes that sentance was an exuse to use the fancy BS words)

It's pretty clear that Lamarr is the sole being responsible for the screw up. She (it?) jumps out of the vent and knocks the emitter out of alignment. It's pretty much the same thing that happened to Barney at the end of Blueshift, the teleport being damaged while he was teleporting out.

Gordon was nearly devoured by an ictyiosuar when he ended up sinking in the bay. Had he been teloprted away a second later, he'd probably be ripped in half or swallowed alive.

The G-man wouldn't make mistakes like that and is extremely proffessional so probably wouldn't do that just to mess around with Mr Freeman.

I seem to remember Mossman saying something about "Interference" and something drawing Gordon away during that sequence. Even if i'm not just making that up, it's something you can take either way though (she's either describing the random jumping phenomena or someone - especially ol'G - causing the mistake). Of course, it could be the case that Mossman sabotaged the teleport in the very short time she would have got to learn that Freeman was there, knowing that Breen would be very interested to see him.

One thing to consider: what does the G-Man actually gain by sending Freeman on a lenghty trip to Nova Prospekt? Though on the face of it, he gains little, I guess it could be argued that it was essential to alert Breen, thus inspiring the Citizens who saw that he was scared of Freeman. They also get to see the successful escape of an anticitizen with most of overwatch against him. If Freeman had gone from BME to Nova Prospekt, the uprising may not have happened. Naturally, we don't know for certain that the G-Man was responsible for the incident, but it certainly helped his supposed cause of blowing up Citadel 17.

Why not? I know I would, if I had powers of the GMan
