Theive quest help. -SPOILERS-?

Not sure if I'm allowed to ask for help with a quest here.. But anyways...

I'm on the the theives quest where I need to find some other theif who was sent to find some book.. Well this is the one where you need to get yourself arested, and then you talk to the guy in jail and he says the guy you're looking for was taken away by the pale chick. Well I became the food guy for the jail.. I Do I have to break that guy out of jail? I open the door for him, and he just walks into the corner behind the door and doesn't do anything...

Anyone know how to finish this quest? I don't have any markers on my compass.

...you don't need to get yourself arrested, you just need to get a job working in the dungeon. After that you talk to the prisoner, he tells you to follow the blood trail leading out of the cell. Just keep following it untill you reach the argonian prisoner, the vampire and the other thief. You kill her, sneak out of the castle and the guy either gives you the book, or tells you where it is. (i forget which, it's been a while)
