There are realy 5 batteries

In highway 17 (I think) where you have to activate a big door to continue to travel with your buggy. There are 3 slots for batteries, but there are really 5 of them.
1. Already in the slot
2. On the bed frame in the house
3. In a car on sinderblocks
4. Under a bathtube (outside by trailer house)
5. On the ledge on the windmill supports

Why do you think there are 5? And there is a half life sign on the roof of the main building, but I couldn't find any weapon or item cashes around. Srange.

Maybe there's five of them just because it'd be easier to find them. Simple. By the way, i didn't notice there are five of them. I found one on the bed frame and the other one in the vehicle.

..and I found the one under the bathtub. so that makes 4 of them (including the one already in the slot)

and yes, I too think that it's just to make the puzzle simpler. besides gives a little more replay value to the game.

I found the one in the room as well as the one already there; took me ten minutes to find the battery in the car, my dad actually pointed it out (since I was annoyed and knocking things off the cliff with the Gravity Gun, I went up to the car and started hitting it and he was like "look, a car battery").

Heh, I had only found the one on the windmill.
Then I thought logically. "If I were looking for a car battery, where would I look?"
And voila!

well, i think they included extra batteries so u play with the door, and you'll have extras when the batteries go dead in a few days. lol

I just pushed my car over the fence in that part and then put a board on the floor, then I hit it with the manipulator and flew over, didn't bother doing the puzzle...Was in a hurry. lol

i found the windmill and the bathtub on my 2nd round through, first game i just diched the car and didint even notice i needed batterys i had to walk the rest of the way, found the bath one by just shooting stuff around then thinking back to where dog had his ball (under somthing) :O

It wouldn't have been that hard for him. Lighthouse Point is just around the corner, the car gets confiscated there anyway.

Inside under the symbol is the cache. I found it while nocliping. You have to grav gun the stuff dawn or stack stuff to get up.

I think there are 5 so the puzzle doesn't seem too artificial... in real life there probably wouldn't be the exact right amount of batteries lying around.
