Theres a Bush in Europe.

You guys realize you are proving my point for me, right?

Er, maybe you don't.

Resentment may be the basic reason, though it doesn't mean that people don't have good, intellegent reason for disliking America as well.

America were the people that hated us brits when we were the superpower at the beggining of the 20th centuary, probably due to resentment of our empire, but that doesn't mean our empire wasn't sometimes a evil thing to be hated if ya know what I mean.

There are plenty reasons for antipathy to US.

Where do you get reasons for your sympathy to US? (Just curious)

okay let's just throw out all journalism, let's throw out all research, let's get rid of every single piece of concrete evidence because according to you every media source is "an opinion". It was the opinion of journalists world wide that a Tsunami killed over 200,000 people ..but it's the "media" it MUST be a lie :upstare:

no because that has nothing to do with bush. :stare:

but wait!!! omg, remember that media story trying to make out America caused the tsunami to cause death to muslims and asians!

and the fact that people used the tsunami to gain more hatred for america. therefore = more people joining an anti-american terrorist organisation just like Al-Qaeda.

i do agree that some have not been messed around with.. but when it comes to bush, all truth is thrown out the window, and left up to the journalists and media what too say *cough* ;)

You are off your ****ing rocker.

Where do you get reasons for your sympathy to US?

I like to be rational.

Do I like everything Bush does? Of course not.

Would I have voted for him if I could have? Nope

Do I think the US is a model for freedom and democracy in the world? I do. Canada is just one of many nations under democratic rule as a direct result of the formation of the US. We can have public healthcare among other things simply because the US spends it's money on a millitary to protect us.

Do I think that much of the world see's Bush as their chance to jump on the anti-american bandwagon without nessicarily having rational reasons to back up their feelings? Absolutely

There was a poll done here in Canada that showed that 2/3 of Canadian teenagers felt that the US today was more evil then Nazi Germany. That is the world of irrationality I am fighting against.

I don't think the US is perfect, and I don't always support it. But there is a difference between decension/disagreement with US policy, I.E. "I feel that the US foriegn policy applied to Iraq was flawed for these reasons...." and blatent, factless, anti-americanism I.E. "US is evil. Bush is da Nazi. US suX0rz".

The former will get you an informed debate based on facts. The latter just proves to the world that you are using current US foriegn policy to justify your feelings of anti-americanism.

All I want is a world where people think logically and rationally. I figure I better not hold my breath.

OK GhostFox.

I don´t. I´m not so well aware with domestic issues but I´ve heard about police state (I ask the second time, is it true? Are some Americans here to answer this q?).
But of course especially concerning the "export" of the "democracy" to others. :flame:

GhostFox said:

I dont think so. It´s possible rational to analyse the wrong policy of US, but it doesn´t make one feel better. It´s the wrong policy, and not a desire to blacken US. And it´s not only about Bush, but about the American foreign policy in generally. The names change, the policy remains

That´s not so irrational. There is past and there is presence. They live in presence.

Hmm... There should be a difference. But there are so many bad things done by US, that one can really lose an owerview...
"US is evil" - Yes, there is a lot of true in this.

There is a way to achieve that people feel sympathy to US: The foreign policy MUST be changed.

You are off your ****ing rocker.

No, he's not off his rocker. Oh, and whats with the cussing and such? Your very angry -- go smoke weed, get some sex ... do something with your life!

Pardon me Absinthe, but if your accusing that Asian man of being a devil, then your off your ****ing rocker. :D Oh, and I'm not angry. See the smile?

Wrong. What he was trying to prove was that the tsunami attacks resulted in more people being recruited by Al Qaeda. Aside from the fact that he hasn't posted any sources that actually prove this, this is ridiculous.

Pardon me Absinthe, but if your accusing that Asian man of being a devil, then your off your ****ing rocker. :D Oh, and I'm not angry. See the smile?

You misread what I said. It's ironic that for all his condemnation of the media, he turns right around and uses it when it suits his purposes.

I don´t.

Oh, so you have a different opinion then? Please, share it with us -- and be specific as to what country in the world besides the United States, is a model to freedom.

police state (I ask the second time, is it true? Are some Americans here to answer this q?).

No, this is the most ridiculous bullshit I've ever heard. Police state? I can walk outside of my house right now, in the middle of Redneck town USA, and scream: I"M GAY AND I LOVE THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE NOW IM GOING TO MASTERBATE IN THE WOODS AND EXPRESS FREEDOM OF SPEECH RIGHTS IN A STARBUCKS KXTHXBAI!!!!!"

... and guess what? No tanks going to come rolling down the street. The FBI is'int going to wisk me away. Finally, they're not going to send riot police marching down a certain nearby freeway.

That´s not so irrational.

But it is -- we're not executing jews on a mass scale -- there's no police state -- and we're not holding Washington D.C. military marches to the tune of SS Erika.

What those kids said, is irrational. And people actually believe I'm part of some wierd-ass plan to one day become a future US-SS Gestapo officer thats going to paradrop in the middle of their Brit pubs holding people at gunpoint demanding Fish and Chips!

Hell no. Those kids are irrational. They're not thinking right.

The foreign policy MUST be changed.

No, we dont have to change for you since you wont change for us.
Our Foreign Policy is our own, just like yours is your own.

Will you change if something is found faulted? Or will you get back to me in 8 German Business days?

oh boy, kerberos is here ...all reason and logic has left this thread ...time for me to make an exit.

Ghost, I do commend you, I agree that while there are good reasons to hate America, many people do just jump on the bandwagon without thinking about differant points of view. Comparisions of Bush to Hitler (?!!?) I mean how ridiculous is that, but there are people that take these points of view. Then again there are people who are equaly deranged on the right wing too.

It's also kind scary how everyone is still hating America when many extreamist Nationalist groups such as the BNP over here and the Neo-Nazi movement in Germany are getting scarily powerful.

Wrong. What he was trying to prove was that the tsunami attacks resulted in more people being recruited by Al Qaeda. Aside from the fact that he hasn't posted any sources that actually prove this, this is ridiculous.

No, I'm right. We were discussing his point -- he made it by the proving the problem to you. His point was, that people were using the Tsunami Crisis as a mends to excuse a hatred for America. Yet again, he made his point by proving to you the problem.

So, I'm right. He's right. We're right about people using the Tsunami to excuse there own personal hatred for America.
Your wrong. Re-assess his statements without trying to reintroduce what you "assumed" he meant.

It's ironic that for all his condemnation of the media, he turns right around and uses it when it suits his purposes.

Oh please! Dont get after him for doing that -- the Media can beat him at any length or fold!

Oh, and how can you say its ironic? I mean, if he does'nt do it, then you guys ... well win.

Hey, if you want to "stoop down to my level", then be my guest.

Just admit that you're a hypocrite.

And last I checked, not all of the anti-Bush people bought into such inane nonsense as "TSUNAMIS FUEL FIRES FOR AL QAEDA".

At least 1 building in Iraq still stands, therefore Iraq has not been compleatly destroyed.

You were being a just a tad extreamist in your language, but I can respect the opinion that Iraq has not benifited from American intervention (howevermuch I may disagree), but throwing around exaggurations makes you sound a bit like a loony, at least to my ears.

Bah! What, with your selective hearing? I think not -- considering we've told you hundreds of times what was really behind that quote.

"TSUNAMIS FUEL FIRES FOR AL QAEDA".

Come again? You actually believe that? Your even more ridiculous then I imagined -- infact, I'd wish you just accept that I'm right and your wrong.

I haven´t seen this poll and I don´t know how it is designed, i.e. what choices did these teenager have at all.

As I said, there is past and there is presence.
Let us assume us, that:

1. These teens think that Nazi Germany was the most evil at that time.
2. They think that US is the most evil at presence.
3. They state that US is more evil then Nazi Germany was (as they live in presence, I assume).

And there wasn´t said that US are Nazi at all.

Do you have a source of this poll?

Neo-Nazi movement in Germany is getting powerful??
-There is a discussion in Germany if the government should forbid NeoNazi-"Demonstrations" nearby monuments and memorials. Thats all!

If there would be such a march through the Brandenburg gate or the Holocoust memorial there would be headlines all over the world -no matter how many/few NeoNazis participate...A week ago (or so) there was a NeoNazi march in Dresden to memory the victims of the bombardment...and only 5000 NeoNazis came. Not a high percentage of 80,000,000.

I know it´s just an exampel: In Germany there are so many foreign soccer-players who play in the ´Bundesliga´and there are no probs at all. Not long time ago England played against Spain and the spanish fans always made dumb "monkey-screams" when a dark-skinned english guy had the ball.
Thats the german stigmata after the second world war and the holocaust, that makes the whole world so attentively when some NeoNazis march. I can guarantee you that NeoNazis have no power at all.
