now think about how pissed off valve mut be for not totally remaking hl1 for half life source. I mean bm:source is gonna be big, massively popular. you can tell. especially since it won most anticipated mod (by a longshot, apparently) poor valve, so much money lost.

of course, hl2 has probably already got them gold plated jaquzzis, but if they did hl:dource properly, they could be in diamond jaquzzis. (platinum is rather dull).

Valve isn't a jackass company that cares more about money than making good games. I'm sure they saw there was money to be made with HL:Source, but they'd rather focus on HL2 and the episodes, not to mention Portal and TFC2.

Valve is certainly here to make money. But they aren't interested in money OVER making a good game. Gabe Newell turned down SERVERAL Half-Life movie scripts because they were all terrible. EA on the other hand releases the same sports games year after year with another number at the end.

Valve are smart, and Valve aren't just greedy bastards. They're here to make money, but they do care about other things, too. Yorick's point about movies and EA is a good one.

Moreover, Valve probably wouldn't get THAT much more money from a full HL remake. It's a pretty expensive thing to make, if they did it, and the sales wouldn't exactly match those of HL2.

In the end, though some of the BM:S developers are likely to get hired by Valve.
