This modification adds a handful of new weapons and effects into Half-Life 2. The mod features heaps of crazy weapons including your foot! (for punting combines), banana bombs, shovels, etc and bullet time effects, ripple effects and much more. You'll have to download this mod to check out just how much is in it.

man this mod has had the highest amount of positive feedback I've heard so far for any hl2 mod...

I guess that means it's time to dl
 
It's not working. :( I'm seeing red, flashing models with "ERROR" on them.
After I aquired the crowbar, I tried impulse 101 and it crashed. It's not reading the weapon models properly.

EDIT: First install didn't add the weapons apparently. 2nd install did. I'm gonna try it again. :)
 
Ok, it works, but I hit a snag.

The part where you park your boat to gain access to the gate infront of you? (not the 2nd gate. The 1st 1 that you have to get a I-Beam to hit it)

After you get out, a Mini Mission begins. And your airboat disappears.
This was a stupid move. Not only does Gordon have to walk in toxic sludge, but the part where you do this challenge of throwing heavy things in this elevator and pulling the switch to raise the platform. He can't get past it without the Airboat... :rolleyes:

Cheating to get past it is pointless. The part where you get the gun on your Airboat is scripted of Gordon showing up riding it.
They don't do anything without the Airboat being there.

I'm about to resort to the "give airboat" cheat to get past this, since I have not found my boat since that Mini Mission started.
 
I found my ride! I had to go threw it again and I found it near that cage you lower down to get the supplies.
The Combine moved it there, and have a "surprise" with you, with bullets. :)

Ok, I hit another snag. On Highway 17. When you get ready to get into the magment thingy to put your buggy on the dock.
Before that, when your walking on the pier to it, the hum of a Dropship fills my speakers. It flies over and goes to where you drop the buggy, knocks a container over and loses it's load, and flies over it's load, spinning around like it wasn't supposed to do that.
Shooting and destroying the load causes a crash. :p
 
this is really sweet so far, but the bullet ripple patterns aren't showing up. poo.

Just played it, I cheated to see what weapons there are, and holy s**t!!!
 
Mother of god, this is fantastic; they fixed the recoil on the SMG and AR as well, so they handle worse when running/jumping. Great mod, been looking out for something like this for a while.
 
The Laser Beam 1 pwns!!!! :dork: Been using it in every level. It does suck suit power up like a vacuum cleaner though. :eek:

I did pass that 1 snag. The pod the Dropship accidently drops is out of the way, and you can still drop the buggy on the platform. :)

There's brand new scripted sequences too. :)
Don't understand about that Physgun's Secondary Fire. They look like balloons. Same about that sticky bomb thingy.
And did I mention Barney fights along side you, holding an AK-47 after you put your car in the garage in Lighthouse Point?
And Kliner fights along side you in "Follow Freeman!", even threw the Nexas Building levels. Though I did lose him to a Strider. :(
There's also Stalkers with Laser Beams that can fry you under that Railroad Bridge. :rolling:
There's also Houndeyes, and they look and act better then in the Substance Mod. But I've only seen 2 of them in the entire game.

Hmm.

The Bullet time, was really slow, now all of a sudden its speeded up, and it only lasts like 2 secounds and is pretty crap.

Bullet time uses up HEV suit energy.

I had fun with the infinite supply of banana bombs. Other than that, meh.
 
say what cvar do i have to modify to make it where enemies won't fly back 20 feet when i shoot them in bulletime mode.

i normally play with phys_pushscale .3, but this cvar doesn't seem to affect the power of the bullets in slow motion. I personally don't like how it looks when you shoot someone and they do cartwheels

but man do i love that shovel, FWAMPF FWAMPF FWAMPF GORE.

and gordon's leg of fury which gibs the unclean without mercy.

And my new favorite past time. Slo motion land in front of an enemy, time my shovel attack and my kick to be at almost the same time, the kick being a split second later. Cause them to fly backwards and explode against any surface they hit.
 
Found this mod quite fun. I love the shovel, so fun smacking combine soldiers with it. Shame it was ruined for me with the annoying HL2 stutter bug.
 
I kick people to death and then eat their gibs.. I especially like the all you can eat buffet you get from the barnacles.
 
Super fun! Gordon gets his hands on Serious Sam's arsenal.
 
Anyone have trouble with this mod slowing down performance in some places? Specifically I noticed the slowdown in Route Kanal. Also, I loaded up AntiCitizen One, and the light maps didn't load. It was all fullbright. Anyone else?
 
Why do all screenshots I see of this mod have people with almost 1000 health but I still have only 100?
 
The shovel is the most genious piece of hardware. Forget the crowbar, this thing rocks! I love kicking combine soldiers in mid air and then smacking them sideways with the shovel in slo mo.

Does anyone else think that this mod makes HL2 an awful lot like FEAR?
 
Riomhaire- you can gib people by breaking them into gibs, then press e (or whatever your use key is) on the gibs. And you'll eat em, which gives you 1 health per gib. Considering every person has like 7 or 8, and barnacles even more... It's pretty quick (Especially if you eat your allies when you dont need them anymore and headcrabs)
 
You know you can make the airboat into an airplane by kicking the roof?

BTW, where do you get the shovel? The vent in Nova Prospekt?

I got it from a guy named IMPULSE 101.
 
I played a slightly earlier version of this map before and had some fun with it. The weapons are fun to mess with for quite a while. I killed a few characters early on with the HEV kick which is satisfyingly powerful :D
 
What is with the readme for this file? It's all messed up.
 
A couple of these things are major improvements to HL2 itself, I think. I wouldn't be upset if I saw bullet time, kicking, the shovel, the Heckler & Koch, or Alyx's Pistol in Aftermath...
