Thread About Phobias?

i really want to tie these people up in a room full of their fobias for like 5 hours, then they will notice its not dangerous...
I would lol if they put her next to a large crate of pickles locked in there, but something went wrong and it broke and nearly killed her and they got her out just in time and it only made it 10x worse.

Worst. Phobia. Ever: Venustraphobia - Fear of beautiful women, or Phallophobia - Fear of a penis OR Genophobia - Fear of sex

or even worse: all 3.

This is just wierd: Hellenologophobia - Fear of Greek terms or complex scientific terminology

Arithmophobia - Fear of numbers .. someone is actually scared of him?

bvasgm, here you go: Walloonphobia - Fear of the Walloons

This one is just stupid: Arachibutyrophobia - Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth

well the effect is called vertigo... but that term is usually used when talking about very high heights...

Hmm, it's something like vertigo but instead of spinning around things just sort of slow down (like in slow motion) and the sounds are much louder and aggressive... maybe it's part of vertigo? dunno :P

I'm petrified of threads about phobias. Gives me the creeps. Wait a second... WHAT HAVE I WANDERED INTO!?

I have a mild fear of heights. I have to go into 'numb mode' before riding a roller coaster, or looking out of a window from a high building.

Ive seen people with phobias of Bananas, Buttons and other people eating. They usually happen as a result of some kind of childhood experience.

It's not a phobia, but do you know the feeling of swimming in sea and realizing you're floating on many meters of water, which is a scary thought, like a fear of heights but then in the water? You don't? Guess I'm weird like that :o

I get that sometimes, its horrible..

High-pitched noises, especially loud ones; anything that remotely resembles the sound of a crying baby works. Telephone ringers, whining animals, and of course, the crying babies themselves.

You have a phobia for those things or you just dislike them? Like when a baby is crying do you freak out?

I'm terribly scared of losing my teeth.

Oh man... I can COMPLETELY relate to that!

But on a different note, I have been afraid of the unknown and monsters/ghosts, etc.

I am still to a degree... but I have overcome alot in the past few months.

Have you ever dreamt that you grind your teeth together and you sense them really loosened in your gum? Horrible feeling.

Ever been chased by an animatronic robot? I have. Frightening.

Nope... but I do frequently have dreams where i'm chewing something, or just sitting there and I feel something awry in my mouth. I reach in to grab what it is, and as I do, the other teeth from my upper and bottom rows start breaking away as I make contact, and in panic, I start moving my teeth around to try to feel if its really happening, and the rest start coming out and making a terrible feeling in my mouth.I start spitting them out one by one, mouth filled with blood, and I have that ghastly feeling of toothless top row grinding against toothless bottom row.

Worst damn dreams in how they feel. Especially since teeth are so VITAL to a social life in this world.

Lol how does that work?

When I was little I was afraid to go into places I have never been into because I couldn't foresee what it would look like, and I didn't want to be wrong.

"Freak out" is the best term, I suppose.

I have, and I'll tell ya it's horrible sad part is you'll eventually loose your teeth for real as you grow old. I've also had a dream once where I had fractured all ten fingers and I couldn't do anything with my hands. So I guess I have a phobia of loosing my dexterity and the phobia of going blind. Both would ruin my life since I plan to do artworks for a living.

There was someone on an english TV show "Don't try this at Home" who had a phobia of buttons. She said she had to pick up the 'loose ones' with tissue and was afraid of them running around her house.

So they put her in a box full of buttons with people in there with her whose clothing was made up of buttons. :D

It was funny at the time :P

Now if only she saw the evil little dolls those buttons belonged to!

Basically just spiders (not phobia tho)...the little ones don't scare me really (except the black widow). Any of those nasty looking spiders, mainly the big ones, really scare the crap out of me. But not to the point where I just freeze with fear like arachnaphobiacs.

other than that there's nothing much else Im afraid of (except dying obviously)
