Track Model Woes

I'm trying to make a railway through my map and I'm having a great deal of difficulty lining up the track model sections. The rail line runs at an angle to the grid lines causing the bounding boxes to overlap (is that OK?). Hammer only lets me see one of the overlapping models at a time so I can only tell if they are lined up when I run the map. I have tried lining up several sections (snapped to grid), grouping them, and then rotating the whole thing but I end up with big gaps!! Any ideas??.... or should I just build the track out of brushes and save my sanity?
