Transferring Saves (Need An Answer Fast)

I recently got a nasty virus, and need to reformat my hard drive. The problem is that I'm pretty far in HL2 (Anticitizen One, to be exact), and really don't want to start over again. I looked through the boards and found that one person did that, and copied their whole profile folder over, which didn't let them load the saves, but unlocked all the levels. I want to verify that this works before I reformat, or find out if there's an alternate method of transferring my saves. I would really appreciate any help.

Oh yeah, one more question. I assume that when they said all the levels were unlocked, they mean that you can choose where to start when beginning a new game. So if I choose to start out far into the game, will it give me all the required weapons and items aquired up to that point? I guess it would kind of have to, because otherwise progress would be impossible, but I'm just making sure.

There is a console command that you can use to activate all the levels. You can reformat, reinstall, use that command and start HL2 again at the Anticitizen One level. The game will also give you the weapons you're supposed to have at that level, yes.

The console command you need is unlocked chapters, which looks like this:

sv_unlockedchapters

Install the game, then bring up the console. After that, type that code in above. Press space, and enter in the number at the end of it, which is the number of chapters you want unlocked. There are 14 in the game, so that would get you all of them. Lets see, Anticitizen One would be Ch. 11? So put in:

sv_unlockedchapters 11

Then go to "New Game", highlight Anticitizen One and start it up! You'll have all the weapons you need. Have fun, you're getting the best part of the game.
