Trouble Pre-Loading games/viewing media !

I've never had this problem before maybe because i recently reinstalled steam i don't know anyways...the problem i get is when i click to pre-load Sin or Episode 1 or click to view media for anything in the steam window it gives me an error along the lines of this "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel" then goes on to give me this msg " Steam.exe (main exception) : Win32 Structured Exception at 00DDB18B : Attempt to read from virtual address 0 without appropriate access rights ". PLEASE HELP ! I need to order episode 1 asap and yes im using an authentic version of hl2/cs etc. etc. Everything else works fine.

Are you using a limited user account or an administrator user account? Because it sounds like you don't have access right to certain required resources (a file maybe).

nope this never happened b4 until i decided to reinstall steam/cs/hl2 i bought the original hl2 game for $50 using authentic key etc etc i doubt it has anything to do with rights or w/e but i dunno plz help ! Everything else works fine only this problem with viewing media files/pre-loading or buying a game through steam >.<
