Truely getting close to release???

Perhaps this has been posted before (if so sry, I couldn't find it).

I was at bestbuy yesterday looking for United Offensive and noticed that they have Vampires Preorder boxes. Since the understanding is that Vampires has to wait for HL2 to release ... perhaps it truely is close???

Well, HL2's had preorder boxes for almost half a year in stores by now. That never meant we got any closer to release than we already were.

Valve said they were planning on shipping a Release Candidate to Vivendi by Sept. 15th. That would be yesterday.

Now, we haven't heard whether they did or not, but assuming Valve is a bit more careful about what they say nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if they did send the RC and are waiting for Vivendi to accept it. If that happens, then a GOLD announcement could be expected within a week or two.

Of course, we're talking about Valve, so chances are there's been another delay and the RC still isn't ready. But I'm crossing my fingers.

the RC for half-life was only with sierra for 2 days why would u say gold in 2 weeks for hl2?

anyway my sources tell me the RC has still not arrived at vivendi and theyre not expecting it this week or next week :/

Speaking about never coming out.. A game that is never coming out is Duke Nukem Forever.. They have been making that for YEARS!! And they just started over on the 3rd Engine (Doom 3 engine) thats never coming out..

As you all may know it has been officially confirmed that a Release Candidate has been sent to Vivendi Universal (unfortunately not to me, b00gers).. This means that Gabe can now go back to his regular diet of non-diet coke and with fat saturated 3 pound pizza's..

And...

If we are lucky, we can do some cute li'l headcrab raping, Alyx Vance torturing (or was it the other way around?).. I hope the end of HL2 will be a bit more exciting and not as mysterious, as in Half Life: One (which in the future shall be called HL: Source), I wanted to shove the G-man's mouth full with peanut smarties for MAKING me senselessly and relentlessly choose between not too attractive options.. I was praying for a few recitals from the Koran in which he would quote to me that any heroic behavior will be rewarded once the mortals reach the heavens.. Every courageous male gets to experience the smoothness of 15 virgins (lots of blood too), whereas every female gets free fruit for life.. Anyway, I'm deviating off my course.. My point is:
