tutorial needed

I have made a few weapons in 3ds max .... I need a tutorial guiding me in putting these weapons i created and skinned into hl2... I have searched here and other places for a 3ds max importing tutorial into hl2, but no luck.
 
its very hard. do some google searchs theres a tutorial on the hl2.net wiki but its very vauge but it is a big help. ive never been able to get a model in game but i think that might have been cuz i didnt rig it properly. maybe if i manage to do it ill write a tutorial on it.
 
Im pretty sure its possible and there are tutorials written how to do it ... but i havent found any .... i dont understand your second post but anyways if i find out how i can post it here i guess.:bounce:
 
Start by making those weapons static props, it will be easier than messing around with the stuff involved with weapons (animations etc...).

Use these exporters plugins for Max: http://www.chaosincarnate.net/cannonfodder/cftools.htm

Search for tutorials on the Web to know the 3 files you need to export.
You will also need to make the collision model.
And finaly make the texture.

You know how to make textures for Source games right? If not then start by making simple textures to be used in Hammer (like for walls and floors). Textures for models are not much difficult, you just need to change the type to VertexLitGeneric and add the line "$model" 1.
 
its hl2 world .com wiki im not sure of the exact adress but if you search half life 2 wiki in google then its the first one i think. it has a very vauge tutorial on replacing weapons using 3dsmax
 
thanks for the replies and help fellas ... hopefully i wont be so hl2 modding noobish in a few weeks :rolling:
