Ugh! Having trouble with HAMMER!!

Can someone please tell me how i can make a custom brush? I mean anything but a cube. Is there any way I could do that, or would I simply have to carve out my desired shape?

AND, one last thing, what tool to I use to create cylinders? This has been boggling my mind for quite some time so any help would be greatly aprreciated.

click the brush tool...on right side of screen there is a box that says primatives.Under that there is "objects" with a drop down list for a few different shapes...including cylinder

Never ever carve...only clip

because it splits your brushes in silly and often undesirable ways

There are two very powerful tools know as the clip tool and the vertex manipulation tool. You'll find them below the block tool that you make your boxes with.

Learn to use them and you've come a long way.
