upgrade need help

hey basically my comp was running ok until i started seeing artifacts on the screen, i basically new at that time the gfx card was screwed because it kept appearing over and over again even at boot time . so basically i wanna upgrade my pc a bit now. i wanna spend roguly 500quid on a CPU,Mobo and a new gfx card. any1 got any ideas on what is the best for me to get?.

As for your problem you might just wanna get a new vid card fan, sounds like yours has died. It also will help if we know your current specs.

What are your current specs? Do you have a preference for AMD or intel, ATI or Nvidea.
