using visual c++ express edition beta 2 for source

hi i have visual c++ express edition beta 2 30 day trial. but i am unable to compile my cpp file in it. i load the project in my mod directory and have to convert it to work in 2005. then i load my cpp file in it. when i click start debugging it says this project is out of date: client - Debug HL2MP Win32. then it says would you like to build it. and if i click yes it says there were build errors. im sure this code is fine because its not my own code and is just code from a tutorial that adds a 3d camera for hl2mp. i know hl2 was built in visual studio 2003 but there was a tutorial about setting up visual c++ 2005 so i figured this would work aswell. if not then is it just called visual studio 2003? and does anybody know where i can buy this in the uk? cheers

yeh the first one is http://articles.thewavelength.net/645/ then i followed a second one that fixes and adds a zoom thing which is http://articles.thewavelength.net/699/ also i have installed the platform sdk.
