Video Card Help

Hi,

Before I can play hl2 @ resonable resolution and fps, I need to know what video card is good enof for me.

Right now I have:
P4 1.6Ghz
768RAM DDR
40 GB HD
AGP slot avail.
onboard SIS 64mb vid (crappy but dx9 compatiable)

The onboard SIS would probably run hl2 but probably at minimum res. I need a video card that will allow me to run hl2 @ min 30 fps and medium resolution. I don't wanna spend more than 100$ (CAN). Cheaper the better but should give me med res and 30 fps. Any suggestions?

Umm, try almost any Geforce FX...They have Dx8.1, Umm Radeon 9600xt has Dx9...Just DO NOT get an MX(NVidia) or SE(Radeon) or and thing lower then 9200(Radeon)

A 9800 or 9800pro would work for you. You processor could use a boost too.

My brother plays at 800x600 with a dell 1.6ghz, 512mb ram, gf4 mx440 and low settings pretty much fine.

Go with a ATI 9600 XT 256 MB if you need to save cash.....it should run HL2 pretty good. You can find a well priced one on newegg (newegg.com)
