Virtual CDR drive

Lets say I wanted to back up all of my Itunes music, or get rid of the licensing protection on the music. I would want to rip all of the songs to cds and then rip them all back to my hdd. What I want to know is if there is any program that will act as my CD-RW drive and instead of burning the songs to the CD it will just create an image file on my hard disk. This will save much time and many CDs.
