Make sure you have a Graphics card that is 2nd to the best in its series or if you have the newest series than any will do. I'm going to try to get one from the GeForce 7 series. If you have a GeForce FX of any kind don't even get the game until it is replaced with something better (Learned from personal experience). Video cards are crucial here. About a gig of ram or more is also necessary. 2.8Ghz processor will cut it. But 3 or better is most likely needed.

Keep in mind the recommended requirements are to run the game smoothly as it is meant to be. If you don't meet them but meet the minimum requirements you can run the game but it will look like Oblivion for Super Nintendo and you will get 1-10fps.

So now you know what is needed. It is no error, no bug. Your specs can either take it or not. If not, shell out some cash and get what you need. Video card is the priority, then ram.

How many times do you want to post the same thing?

many because I am currently pissed off since this is the first time I am not able to run a game smoothly.

2.3 Ghz processor works fine, a gig of RAM works well, and an X800 for the video card :\

save money for a new card,if you get a 7600 for agp, that will do fine no need 2 spend 400 on a 7800GT even thoe I have one lol,ram is important Im still fighting with myslef if I should ordr more ram or not.

running game on 'high quality' with:
amd 3000+ 64
evga geforce 6800GS
1gb ram

I run a AMD64 3800 and 1gb RAM with a PCI-E 16x 6600 GPU. That must at least run medium?

If not, OVERCLOCKING TIME. :D

WAAAAA

Mommy and daddy won't buy me a new computer. I have some 3 year old POS and am pissed off the newest and most graphically demanding games to date won't run smooth on my comp. It is the devs fault for making the game too good, not mine for having such an old comp and never upgrading!

Well, that's a lovely attitude.

Yeah I try. Posts like this annoy me. The first I will let slide but when someone makes another thread whining about the games performance when it is their fault it really bugs me.

Oh sorry, I didn't realise that disagreeing with something meant you should act like a twat.

Woah woah, I take offense that, seeing as how that first thread was mine and all. I don't like it when the developers expect me to have a 7900gtx, or 2x 7800gtx's ya know? As it is the game should run PERFECTLY fine on my computer, but it doesn't . I just get acceptable and somewhat playable frames (outside, that is) because I disabled the grass.

Like I said before, I should run it fine, but it doesn't. The topic creator, well.....he is a different story. No one, and I mean NO ONE should be buying games this demanding with an fx5200. Thats just foolish.

I have . . .

2000+ XP
1 GB DDR
ATI 9800 PRO

And the game runs at about 20-30 fps at medium settings, sometimes it gets choppy, but for a system this old, I expected it.

I'm confused about AMDs speeds...what's 2000+ equal to in Intel terms?
Generally you can compare a 2000+ with a 2ghz Intel. Its not always like that though, but it gives you somewhat of an idea.

Yeah, you shouldn't complain really. It's your own fault you didn't read the minimum system requirements. :|

I have the same setup as phantomdesign so I sort of know what to expect. Gosh I want this game so bad!

I just got a 6600GT, I played FEAR fine on 'high' settings, so I hope it will make Oblivion look nice.

The main times I have problems is in group battles - framerates drop to about 8 there & it can be difficult to not hit your teammates. Other than that, the performance doesn't seem to hinder gameplay too much, which is what matters to me. I should explore more how to optimize it for my system, but it seems that most of the options have little effect on my FPS, which makes me think my processor is the current bottleneck (even with texture res set to high).

You don't need a top of the line comp at all. Mine is about a year old and can run the game very well on high settings. You don't need the newest hardware to run this game well. In fact if you have a decent comp you can run this. So those of you that have old comps that are just under minimum stop your complaining. Minimum means minimum to run the game and have it somewhat playable, so under that don't expect it to run any better. My tolerance ends after the same person makes 2 whining posts so dumb dude none of that was reflected at you.
