Water Hazard

Hi All, I have shot down the helo gunship using the 2 machine guns in the room overlooking gate 5 and have opened said gate from the control panel. When I wde down the river towards the 2 sunken boats i am attacked by another helo without a suitable weapon to shoot the sucker down, any ideas please.

Get the helecopter to follow you back to gate 5 and give it hell with the same gun you used on the first. Either that or just dodge it and keep aiming for floating crates.

Well, there should be a dock-like thing somewhere where a Vortigaunt gives you a gun. Actually the same Machinegun the helicopters use.

Avoid it? You'll get a machine gun eventually. There's a cool chase sequence with the helicopter after opening the gate.

It's not that hard to dodge the mines it drops, and crash through floating crates to pick up health and suit juice, until you get far enough downriver to find cover from the attacks. If you keep going at full whack it doesn't get the opportunity to shoot at you (if you slow down and allow it to fire, you'll pick up helluva damage).
