Weird graphics problem

When I start a new game I get this:

Ive used every driver there is. These are my pc spec:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1900+ @1,60 GHz
768 MB RAM
xfx 6600gt

Ther's no overheating and I've got enough power.
HELP!

Have you tried to unlock any vertex shaders on your card (are there even any to unlock on 6600?!)

If you don't know, then you havent, and thus, this is not the problem. Try re-installing DirectX, Drivers and even hl2 if you can be arsed.

lol nice to see ure taking it in good humour.

i saw on a forum (cant remember which one) a person who had the same problem, and i think it was something to do with their drivers.

unfortunately, i cant remember the exact solution *smacks head*

I had this exact same problem a few months ago. I tried everything I could find in forums, etc. Eventually (and quite sadly) I had to replace my video card. It had apparently been fried by a power supply gone bad. It also killed my mobo.

That's sucks dude, but I'm sure that's not the problem, the vidcard works fine with doom 3 and other games.

Artifacts usually occur when the gfx card is overheating or cpu is.

Wow, so many replies and no one tells him the obvious?? Try validating your game files by clicking HERE.

well, might be a few things.....bad PSU might not be giving enough power to the GPU, and your videocard is obviously bottlenecked by your slow CPU also....

Try downloading a better driver for your graphics card.....and maybe reinstalling the game.

Ok problem solved! My Bios was set to 64 mb AGP. Thx for the reply's!
