Welder Gun in multiplayer?

Is there anyway possible to make a host a hl2dm game that would allow the use of the welder gun mod? I just wanted to know cos i wanted to mess around with it on a LAN game with other people.

Start up the HL2 mod with the welder gun and the "-console" option. Then enter this on the server:-

net_start
sv_lan 0
coop 1
maxplayers (whatever you want)
map (mapname)
restart

And do this on the client that is going to join:-

connect <server ip>

The physics are much smoother in HL2 as oppose to HL2DM. However Valve didn't bother to make a Freeman model, just a dark figure.
