Maybe this should be made in to a poll...

Anyways, my vote would go to E3 2K3.

[Edit]: errr....nevermind :imu:

My vote goes to E3 2003 but only because it was all brand new and I didn't know shit.

Then again, I thought 2004 was amazing too.

Sigh, gotta let it be made, people pounce on new threads way too quick heh.

I dont really know, E3 2k3 was the first hl2 stuff i have seen, so it was more impressive.

I can't tell, because if the e3 2k4 one came out first it would be more impessive, and all the physics would have been new to me...

Too hard to figure out.

I would say e32k4 because alot of people was starting to get discouraged and skeptacle about HL2 but 2k4 reassured them

i liked the hl2 videos at 2003. i dunno but the game just seemedmore interesting through those videos.

2004, because it showed a side of the game we hadnt seen yet, and they blew me away again, and for a second showing to blow you away again, it definatly makes it better than the first.

I said e3 sk3 because it was the first I had seen of HL2 in action.

E3 2004. Simply because i didn't think HL2 was gonna be anymore impressive then what they showed in E3 2003. Boy was i wrong

Definately 2k4. all gaming 'politics' and stuff aside, if you were to show someone who knew nothing of HL2 the 2k3 and 2k4 videos in succession, i'm pretty sure they would agree the 2k4 one was better. I mean...i would.

2004 e3 eats up 2003 e3,

2004 e3 was so dam impressive
:sniper: :naughty: :P

My excitement for HL2 sort of "died out" for a while due to the lack of new information, but the new videos truely impressed me as much, or more than, the older ones. 2004 all the way.

I'd have to tentatively go with e3-2k4 because it gave me good shivvers (not that the 2k3 presentation didn't :P), but these ones were better.

Well I was waiting for lots of negatives for the 2k4 presentation. I mean, how can they show you a game from last year and still impress people? But they did, it was awesome, it blew me away. I was just sitting there thinking... some day I'm going to be playing this game...w000ttt!!!

Ahem, so yes, 2k4 is the winner!

That sums it up pretty good

We have the binks for 2003 but not 2004 (soon, I hope), so I'm going with 2003. :)

both are impressive, more impressive than any other game ive seen. 2004 was more game content so it was cooler, but 2003 was its first showing, so theyre about equal. my vote went 2004 simply because it reminded me why ive been so loyal and patient over the past year.

2003 = new technology blew everyone away
2004 = new game design blew only some away
I chose 2004.

2004 , because it showed more interaction between people , like walking out of the train and just seeing the environment that we will be able to walk in :D

ooOo makes me all warm inside :<

I said Hmm, because we haven't seen the full-quality binks for 2004 yet.

I'd guess that they'd be better though.

2k4, as they focused more on the gameplay and action aspects... much more to enjoy and be impressed by.

2004!

Allthough I nearly voted 2003 simply because I have them in full resolution! ;)

Exact same feeling.

2003 was new and we were all shocked and blown away. 2004 I think we were all more exctied about seeing if it looked better or different a year later; and we were just happy to get more info and more video.

The newness of 2003 was much more impressive to me (although 2004 looked better).

2004, although 2004 was ****ing impressive as well.

probably 2k3, simply because i havent seen 2k4 properly yet, only the crappy 39MB video, and 22k3 was the first time i saw it. just seeing the gman come on the screen was absolutely amazing. 2k4 is probably the better video though, and shows more actual gameplay. plus, CS:S blew me away :D

The old ones were the best! The new ones were way to hectic, and it looked like any other First Person Shooter...how sad! But I'm still going to buy it!

Then why do you even respond to this poll, if you haven't seen it properly yet?

i HAVE seen it at a friends. just not properly. i have the 39MB video, and have watched the full version. ive just not been able to WATCH the full version if you know what i mean.

E3 2003 was a techdemo, Gordon having godmode (or almost at least) on and combine soldiers just standing in one place. E3 2004 was the first time that the real Half-Life 2 was shown. It blew E3 2003 away.

The only new things in E3 2004 where the roller mines and hovercraft. Other than that it was a sort of sad rehash of last year.

I don't want to know how the game starts, I don't want to know more about the story, I pay to know those things and be entertained by it. I was sort of wondering why they showed that at E3. Why did they even put in the Father Gregory scene? Why did they show 2 strider levels that were almost the exact same? They showed the inventory system wasn't finished! That was an obvious mistake.

They sure didn't polish the game for those videos. The lighting problems are what they show us at E3? If they have those files for E3 why can't they release them on steam the day E3 ended? What's so hard about that?

I am pretty synical about the E3 pressentation because I think they could have tried a lot harder for their second effort. I was not blown away.

2003 because it showed more of the physics and other neet shaith :smoking:

Just as a side note. If they showed another tech demo I would have been estatic. It would have proved that they polished the gameplay which desperatly needed it after the whole AI scandle.

Prove the game works and the enemies are intelligent, leave the story for the fans to find out about.
